Last night, I took my girlfriend to a Gabrielle Bernstein event here in Vancouver. I hadn’t actually been to Gabby’s events before. I subscribe to her Spirit Junkie app and I will often watch her videos as a subscriber to her newsletter/website. It was an amazing event. There was a lot of talk about fear and resistance which really hit me hard. My girlfriend had the same impact.
It was a bit of a late night and I naturally wake up early so I wanted something warming but that wasn’t coffee. So, here we are…
Matcha is a fantastic tea from ground green tea leaves. It is high in antioxidants and it makes a great alternative to coffee. Matcha is still caffeinated but it doesn’t spike your energy levels and keeps a more stabilized and sustained energy level.
This recipe does ask for 1-2 drops of doTERRA’s peppermint essential oil. Did you know that one drop of this essential oil is the equivalent of 20 cups of peppermint tea? That’s amazing (and potent)!
Now, keep in mind that not all essential oils are equal. Doterra’s essential oils are the purest of the pure as they are tested by a third party to ensure that they are free of any impurities. So, if an oil indicates “for external use only” or “not for internal use”, then don’t be ingesting it or even putting it on your body. If the company cannot guarantee it’s purity, then it’s not worth the risk.
Now, let’s get started on this amazing latte!
Ingredients:
1 cup of non-dairy milk, ideally almond or coconut.
1 drop of DoTerra Peppermint Oil (taste and add an additional drop if needed) or 2-3 fresh mint leaves.
2 teaspoon of organic matcha powder (or more to taste)
2-4 drops of liquid stevia or sweetener of choice such as maple syrup or honey
Added boost: 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil for extra energy
Directions:
1) Add all ingredients, except oil and/or mint leaves, to a saucepan and warm until it is about to boil.
2) If you choose to add coconut oil and/or fresh mint leaves, add the warmed liquid to a blender and add the oil and blend for 30 seconds.
3) Serve
