One of my favourite fall/winter snacks is homemade apple sauce. My signature trick is to roast them so that the natural sugars come out and they caramelize. Yummers! But, what happens when you add a little special secret ingredient that adds fibre, protein, prebiotics and probiotics that aid in digestion? A highly nutritious, damn fine snack!

Ingredients
6 – 8 peeled and cubed apples
1 t cinnamon
⅓ t cardamon (optional)
⅓ ground ginger (optional)
⅓ nutmeg
1 T maple syrup
juice of one lemon
2 Tablespoon North Coast Naturals Daily Cleanse or Ground Flax
- Place apples in baking dish and roast (covered) in a 375 degree oven for 45 minutes
- Place in high speed blender with all ingredients and blend until smooth
